About Catholic Church of the Assumption
Zemun’s Catholic parish church, built on Veliki trg to a design by Toma Miklaušić of Zagreb and opened in 1795, on the foundations of a former mosque. It was declared a cultural monument in 2022. Its bell tower is one of the landmarks of Veliki trg, and the church is still the heart of Zemun’s Catholic community.
