About To Bucharest: flights and road

Belgrade and Bucharest are two of the most exciting capitals of the region, and many travellers combine them. Air Serbia flies directly from Nikola Tesla airport to Bucharest’s Henri Coandă airport in about an hour and a half; check the current schedule. By road, the drive takes around eight to nine hours, part of it beside the Danube, and coach and minibus services also connect the two cities. Our sister guide, the ULTIMATE Bucharest City Guide, covers the Romanian capital in depth: its Belle Époque avenues, its music and its food.

Why it's on our list

  • Direct flights in about an hour and a half
  • A long drive by road, past the Danube
  • Read our sister guide to Bucharest

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with To Bucharest: flights and road before you go.
