Galerija Ikar
Art under the wings of Icarus
About Galerija Ikar
An art gallery in the Dom vazduhoplovstva, the aviation club inside Dragiša Brašovan’s landmark Air Force Command building in old Zemun, with changing exhibitions of painting and, each late summer, the international watercolour festival Ikar.
The gallery takes its name from Icarus, whose figure by the sculptor Zlata Markov flies on the side of the Air Force Command building. Its programme ranges from Zemun painters, such as Ranko Brkić’s cityscapes of Taurunum, to group shows by artists’ collectives during the European Heritage Days.
Every year it hosts the International Watercolour Festival Ikar; the 2026 edition opened on 31 August with watercolourists from 20 countries.
